Reflecting on the Future

A few weeks ago, the Dubai Futures Forum took place, where the narratives extended beyond technology to focus on key themes such as optimizing health, empowering generations, regenerating nature, and transforming humanity. Laura Maceira, Co-Founder at Puntoasterisco, Certified as Foresight Practitioner by the TFSX School was present, and these are the reflections we want to share with you

A Space That Inspires and Transforms

The Museum of the Future, with its visionary architecture, natural light, and materials that merge the organic with the futuristic, created a unique atmosphere—a space that invites calmness and openness. In this setting, the unexpected was not only welcomed but also necessary.

The forum's thematic axes marked a narrative shift: beyond technology, there was a renewed appreciation for the human and the natural, guiding a deeply connected conversation about our place in the world. Narratives became more vivid through immersive and sensory experiences.

Ideas That Resonate and Inspire Action

Among the standout panelists, figures like Honor Harger, Michael Madsen, Dr. Parag Khanna, Anne Beate Hovind, and Jonathon Keats offered transformative perspectives that invite action.

The workshops also left an indelible mark: from the use of biodegradable materials for future design, presented by Arup, to approaches to urban regeneration led by Thireshen Govender and Huda Shaka. These sessions highlighted that transforming cities is not just about rethinking infrastructure but also about reshaping the social dynamics that define them. Innovation is deeply intertwined with sustainability.

A Call to Action for Leaders and Creatives

In an interconnected and increasingly complex world, futures thinking is not a luxury—it is a strategic necessity. As individuals and as businesses, we must ask ourselves questions that prepare us for a conscious and planned transition:

  • How can we integrate systems thinking and long-term perspectives into our personal and business decisions?
  • What small steps can we take today to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and regenerative tomorrow?

Reflecting on possible futures not only transforms how we do business but also reshapes how we relate to the world and one another. Every action matters—from adopting more sustainable materials in your projects to fostering inclusive conversations within your team.

The future is being created here and now, and we want to co-create it with you.
