La Flor de Córdoba is a Mexican brand founded in 1938 in Guadalajara, offering high-quality coffee produced in the regions of Veracruz and Chiapas. It is recognized as the first coffeehouse chain in the western part of the country. From its beginnings, the brand has stood out for its focus on selecting high-quality coffee beans from mountainous regions, ensuring an excellent product. Their roasting process, perfected over decades, guarantees coffee with a distinctive flavor and consistent high quality.

La Flor de Córdoba offers a variety of products, including whole bean and ground coffee, instant coffee, special blends, and coffee concentrates. Additionally, their coffeehouses not only serve coffee beverages but also a variety of food and pastries, creating a complete experience for coffee lovers. The company has maintained its reputation and tradition for over 8 decades thanks to its commitment to quality and innovation, adapting to market trends without losing its essence.

A Brand Aspiring for Expansion and Positioning

The brand was ready to take the next step in its business strategy, identifying the need for a comprehensive transformation. Key objectives included expanding market reach and strengthening its position as a provider of high-quality coffee. The new vision aimed to establish a deeper connection with consumers by sharing the passion and history behind their product and promoting pride in Mexican coffee. Puntoasterisco® joined La Flor de Córdoba to create a strategy aimed at achieving these objectives and consolidating its position as a market leader in coffee. Over 9 years, we worked closely with La Flor de Córdoba to extend their brand identity, which, combined with a renewed business strategy, allowed for exponential growth, increasing branches to over 100 franchises in approximately 10 years.

Our Services

During our collaboration with La Flor de Córdoba, we focused on 360-degree communication, developing a comprehensive approach that encompasses as many customer touchpoints as possible. This includes implementing both online and offline marketing campaigns, graphic communication pieces, interior design, and merchandising, among others.

Digital Marketing

We started from scratch by opening their communication channels on digital media, developing a personalized strategy for the brand's growth in the digital environment. Through our phased approach, we accompanied the project from its inception to its consolidation, ensuring value at each stage of the process. Thanks to our support and expertise, the results were highly positive, allowing La Flor de Córdoba to establish its own Digital Marketing department.

Ecommerce Development

The web development involved creating an online store, marking Café La Flor de Córdoba's first foray into e-commerce, making them pioneers in online coffee sales in Jalisco. Puntoasterisco supported the ideation of the structure, communication strategy, development of the technological platform for implementation, and measurement settings to evaluate performance and influence informed decision-making in continuous improvement processes and campaign configurations, strengthening an integrated Digital Marketing strategy.

Brand Applications

We generated all types of offline advertising, including menus, packaging, flyers, procedure manuals, point-of-sale promotions, and more.

Store Look and Feel

The iconic interior design style of La Flor de Córdoba was created in collaboration with the architecture team. Together, we explored the theme of nostalgia and were inspired by local symbols to develop a concept that reflects the essence of Guadalajara. From the meticulous selection of lamps and furniture to the inclusion of the iconic “Mosaico Guadalajara,” commonly found on the sidewalks of the city’s traditional neighborhoods, every detail was carefully considered and adapted to become an integral part of our interior design. This collaborative and authenticity-focused approach allowed us to create a unique and welcoming space that captivates our visitors and transports them through the time and history of our beloved city.

A Strategic Transformation

Our collaboration with La Flor de Córdoba succeeded in highlighting and rescuing the value of a local brand that connects with its roots and consumers through the #YoConsumoLocal movement. This approach strengthened its identity and fostered a sense of pride among its customers.

Additionally, we supported the transformation of their commercial model. By evolving from a branch model to a franchise model, the brand was able to significantly expand its reach. This strategic change not only facilitated expansion but also enabled rapid and sustained growth, resulting in over 100 points of sale.

The effective collaboration and shared vision between Puntoasterisco and La Flor de Córdoba were crucial to achieving these results.

The Growth of La Flor de Córdoba

In 2020, we celebrated with La Flor de Córdoba the opening of their 100th franchise, located at Circunvalación and Felipe Ángeles Avenue. This milestone marked La Flor de Córdoba as the only Jalisco-based company in its field to achieve such a goal. Currently, the brand has 120 points of sale in Mexico, consolidating its market presence. Compared to the single-digit number of branches when our partnership began, the consistent and substantial brand expansion generated a virtuous circle that piqued the interest of both the local consumer community and new coffee consumers, as well as investors who saw La Flor de Córdoba as a solid business opportunity, backed by an attractive and reliable brand.

The franchises offer a unique experience reflecting the distinctive identity inspired by our city, with floors in red and gray tones evoking Guadalajara's traditional tiles, wooden furniture, and images narrating the rich history of the coffeehouse, founded in 1938.
